Vehicle Description

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

1957 Chevrolet Belair 2 door hardtop. This is a real VC code Belair. This Belair has been in the same family since the early 80's. The previous owner had a tractor and automobile museum and this was one of the cars that sat on the floor for patrons to see. The car was taken off the frame in the 80's when he originally purchased it and was reconditioned for museum display. At the time I am told all of the drivetrain was rebuilt. The vehicle was seldom moved since then until we purchased it in 2019. When we purchased the car several things had to be addressed form it sitting all those years. We replaced the radiator, fuel tank, fuel sending unit, fuel hoses, Heater control valve, front and rear brake system, master cylinder, rear axle gears and rear axle bearings. We left the brakes all four wheel drum. We also removed the Bias Ply white wall tires and installed raised white letter with some older Cragar S/S wheels we had laying around. The factory wheels and hubcaps along with the wide white wall bias ply tires will go with the vehicle if the buyer wants them. The car runs and drives out well just as you would expect from a 1957 chevrolet. It has a V8 and Power glide transmission. NO power brakes and NO power steering. The undercarriage of the car shows like you would have expected someone to do it back in the 80's. There is few small places on each front floor pan that was patched and it looks like there was a 4 speed in the car at some point in time and the transmission tunnel was patched to allow the powerglide. All body mounts/braces are solid and no rust showing. I have built several of these cars in the past and although it does show some age in places it is extemely hard to find one this solid. The interior of the car was replaced at the time of the build in the 80's but it still seems very solid and shows extremely well. All glass is good also. The color on the title is described as white but it's actually more of a very light blue tint in my opinionThe exterior of the car does show it's age. The paint is what I call a 20 footer. It shows well from a distance but up close it does show signs of the paint checking etc. The stainless is all in fairly good shape. The pot metal pieces( door handles, hood trim) appear to be original and are pitting. The grille does have a break in the center bar. Body is very straight. I would describe the car as needing paint. I can however paint the ca for an additional fee in our restoration shop, but we stay so backed up and that is the reason for selling the car now. So if we repainted it, you would have to figure spring before I could even think about it. All in all this is an extremely solid survivor that wouldn't taker much TLC at all to have a huge return on the investment, and one could drive and enjoy
