This car is very clean and tidy top to bottom, very solid with no indication that it ever suffered ravages of winter, abuse or collision. The restoration was clearly professional and of high quality, finished in its original Ash Gold color with black stripes.
The present owner acquired the car in 2012 in its restored condition, and has kept it garaged and serviced as required to remain in excellent roadworthy condition. It remains true to its original configuration, which included power disc brakes.

DRIVETRAIN:Stampings at the front of the block confirm the engine to be original and matching the VIN. Engine Block Vehicle Code 18L344513, Engine Production Code V0531MO.
The engine has been professionally rebuilt and is fueled by a numbers correct dual-feed 800 cfm. Holley carb (3923289 – List 4053).The engine starts easily and sounds very good with no unusual noises. A brief start-up video can be found near the end of the listing.
The engine compartment is extremely clean, tidy, and nicely detailed with factory decals and markings, GM stamped hoses, and correct tower clamps.It carries all the correct factory chrome plated items such as air cleaner top, valve covers, oil filler tube and cap.All other components on and around the engine appear as original equipment, operate as required, and are nicely detailed.
Guided by the Jerry MacNeish 1967-68 Z/28 Fact Book, items we can confirm as being numbers correct include intake (3917610), exhaust manifolds (rt. 3872730, lt. 3892683), alternator (1100814), master cylinder (5460346), brake booster (9078), transmission (3925660), rear axle (BT 0528G2).Pics of many are included in the photo album, some of course are not visible at time of photography such as heads and distributor, but we have confidence in their correctness as well. The double-hump cylinder head casting is indicative of 1967/68.
All Z/28s were factory equipped with a Muncie 4-speed transmission and shifter.The original rear differential, stamped BT, is posi-traction with 3.55:1 gear ratio.The undersides of the engine, tranny and rear end are amazingly dry and show no evidence of any notable leaks beyond the usual sweat drop.
CHASSIS:The undercarriage is absolutely solid, as are all body mounts, sub-frames, inner rockers, floor and trunk pans.The chassis is overall very clean and detailed, with all components appearing as original equipment.
NOS GM or quality reproduction parts were exclusively used in the restoration of all mechanical components and systems.Suspension springs tag coded “EE” on front coils, “OA” on rear leafs, correct as originals.The car came equipped power disc brakes up front, drums at the rear.Aluminized dual exhaust system is in very good condition, and gas tank appears new.
The tires are a matched set of Goodyear E70x15 Wide Tread GTs, as originally equipped, with excellent tread remaining. They are mounted on rally wheels with trim rings, all in very nice condition.
BODY & PAINT:There is no evidence of any prior bodywork or collision damage anywhere on the car. No signs of body filler, rust issues, or paint blisters either.The body and all sheet metal are very straight.Fit and gaps on all panels is very good.
The Ash Gold paintwork is excellent, retains a beautiful luster, is very smooth, and has not suffered any scratches, chips or dings.
INTERIOR:The black bucket seat and console interior is in great condition. It has been fully refinished and appears fresh with original style materials and patterns.All seat covers, carpets, door and interior panels, woodgrain appliques, visors and headliner are very nice.
Dash pad is excellent.Woodgrain applique on dash and console is very nice.No cracks in the simulated woodgrain steering wheel.Headliner has no issues, door sill plates in very nice condition, as are the pedal pads which show no wear.
The shaded windshield is excellent, and the car was factory ordered with tinted glass.New rubber weather-strips and seals throughout.Original jack in its proper location in the solid trunk, but no trunk mat.
ELECTRICAL:New main wiring harness is in excellent condition and all electrical items are in working order.Full optional gauge package is console mounted, also equipped with dash mounted 6000 rpm Tic-Toc-Tach, with working clock. All instruments are very nice and in good order.
BRIGHTWORK:All exterior brightwork on the car is in excellent condition.It is either new, restored and polished, re-chromed, or excellent original, and in most cases it is difficult to tell which.Very nice grille with no broken or bent ribs, and nice surround.Any pot metal chrome items such as door handles, side lamp bezels, and tail lamp housings are very nice and free of blemishes or pits.All emblems in very nice condition.Both bumpers are in excellent condition with beautiful chrome.
Rally wheels, center caps trim rings are very nice.Rocker moldings nice and straight with no dents or dings evident.
SUMMARY:If you are considering an investment grade performance Camaro, this could be it!This quality restored 2nd year Z/28 is a very correct, complete, clean, straight, and solid example of a desirable Chevy muscle car. It is well above average in paint and most other regards, and is ready to show and go!There are no hidden secrets or horrors with this car.
